The D20 Modern Open Gaming Content Reference Document is a project that has been spawned by an intense annoyance of having to flip through too many books to find what I'm after. It is a common annoyance that just about everyone involved with OGL, publisher and player alike, are forced to contend with. Here at ARP, we came to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to spend a few hours each week compiling an electronic document containing all the D20 Modern OGC, rather than having to endlessly flip through book after book. After all, having wasted a year maintaining an OGC index, the index didn't improve our writing performance around the shop at all.
The current status for this project is that it is "shop only", a tool to be utilized only by ARP employees and regular freelancers. As it grows (and probably becomes too troublesome for us to manage on the side), we will likely open it up to other established D20 Modern publishers on either a subscription or contributory basis. Will gamers eventually have access? Maybe, but I don't know. If they do, it is safe to say that the version they'll have access to will be time-delayed, in order to protect the sellability of current products on the market.
